Delighted to read a 100 percent piece on Kamala Harris! It's what I see, too, and it's rejuvenating to be a witness to it and seeing it described in summat.

Thank you so much for your perspective and insight. I am choosing to believe you are correct regardless of all the recently reported negative polling and electoral concerns. I’m not expecting miracles as much as hoping to begging to turn the tide in favor if democracy and the promise of a representative government. I am feeling much relieved by your continued confidence.

'I defy you to describe for me a wrong move that Kamala Harris has made since she became the Democratic nominee.'

Harris: 'And let me be clear. And let me be clear. I will always stand up for Israel’s right to defend itself, and I will always ensure Israel has the ability to defend itself, because the people of Israel must never again face the horror that a terrorist organization called Hamas caused on Oct. 7.'

Israel can no longer be portrayed as 'defending itself: nearly 50,000 outright murdered & maimed Palestinians - tens-of thousands defenseless women, children, and elderly - new threats of intentional starvation of Palestinians in Northern Gaza; criminal and deadly assaults on civilian populations in Lebanon; provocative attacks on Syria.

The world press, as well as numerous sovereign States with conscience, are constantly noting US complicity in these crimes against all international law. This due to the never-ending flow of US military aid, as well as mobilization of US troops into and towards the near East...in defense of Israel.

Harris is silent regarding these very serious developments. She is no different than Trump on this issue - with the exception that Trump is flagrantly stating his intent. If Harris gets the seat in the Oval Office, there is no doubt that the escalation towards catastrophe in the Middle East will intensify.

Some may disregard this issue - others less infatuated with the political theater aren't. This is perhaps the most serious issue any US president will have to face...and it's immediate.

Harris' disregard regarding this issue is a 'wrong move' - in fact, it's not only wrong, it's simply a complicity in silence. Particularly in light of the fact that Harris is right now the Vice President of the United States.

Exactly. Biden is President and until the election the β€œball is in his court”not hers. The Vice President does simply not make policy decisions.

Well spoken and thanks for reminding the general populace. The VP is a supportive role that is supposedly loyal to the president's agenda. She is now almost out there on her own and will be soon. Biden has done a lovely job of maintaining his role while beginning to elevate her. Careful balancing act. We can't know, under these circumstances, what she will actually do when she holds the reins on her own. It can only be speculation at best. Also, things change as situations change and we have to roll with them. "The only constant is constant change and around the Wheel must turn." Her job will soon be, Universe willing, to turn the Wheel. So be it.

You fail to understand the point.

I'll make it easier: can you provide any instance - in her campaign rhetoric - where Harris gives any indication whatsoever that she intends to pursue a different policy towards Israel, occupied Palestine, and the Middle East crisis?

Just this evening, during the FOX Bret Baier interview, she was asked about her comment that Iran is the 'greatest adversary' to the US, and the country's greatest threat. The question was about the greatest threat to the United States. She immediately responded: 'most recently, whether it was April or October...several hours on each occasion, when Iran posed a threat to Israel, I was there...'

Note: Iran is a threat to Israel...not the United States of America. She apparently sees no difference. National security professionals overwhelmingly see China as the greatest adversary of the US. One can agree with that or not, but in terms of actual US national interests, the argument is at least a credible one.

She says Iran has blood on its hands, yet she has not ever pointed out that Israel has by far more blood on its hands, in terms of inhuman acts of indescribable destruction and murder of tens of thousands of unprotected Palestinian civilians. In fact, Iran lobbed the missiles over due to Israel's state sponsored terrorism against not only Iranian allies, but also Israel's genocidal actions in Gaza. The International Criminal Court has condemned these Israeli atrocities.

Are you actually suggesting that you believe Harris - as US president - will change the current US policy of unconditional military aid to Israel, and the green-light policy of atrocities committed by Israeli aggression against unprotected civilian populations?

If you do think that will change, what gives you that idea?

Iran, sweetie, is part of Sino-Soviet-Iran axis and a threat to all and that is where the focus must be. Amen.

Spare me your condescending 'sweetie' infantile remarks.

It's that kind of arrogant and presumptuous attitude that's convincing all nations being swept into the multipolar Russia/China scheme that they've had enough of the unipolar west.

Goofs like you aren't helping...but that's something you can hardly comprehend...seeing that you think this is some kind of high school adolescent spat.

BTW, there is no 'soviet' in the axis you attempt to argue - catch up on world events. Your nonsense comment is so pre-1991.

Thank you! I needed this positive view of our hope for America! I'd been wondering about the polls, especially. They just don't make sense!! Your explanation does. She IS what America needs right now and so is Tim Walz. My fears have been that even worse than Trump would be J.D. Vance, and I feel he would eventually become President or operate "behind the scenes", along with the Trump sons.

Expand full comment

Good thinking, Ruth! My fears are that the far MAGA-like right is using Trump as a place holder and betting he will be dead shortly. They'll then have Vance in place and be where they want to be. He is in sync and part of that group. Trump, permanently stuck in an early developmental freeze (thank you for trying to re-create your monster, Roy Cohn of Joe McCarthy fame, may you rot in hell). There is only Trump in Trump's world.

Wow! I love the optimistic view that coincides with my, from a distance from β€œinside the campaign” thoughts and views. All the reds have is chaos, and djt is seeing what he can in a criminal, anti-American way. Merrick Garland twiddles, unSupreme Court fiddles; Kamala leads!

The turnout point is so important. The media clowns are ignoring 2022 and focusing on the 60 bogus polls dumped into the system by Trump acolytes. My prediction: Harris 50, Trump 45, Others 5.

I watched The War Room last night, the documentary on Clinton’s first run. The night before they were planning a concession speech. They ended up winning 400 Electoral College votes. I don’t think we will see 400, but 310+ would be great.
