I want to believe and sometimes I do believe, but I also can't help noticing that no one's talking about the unelected fourth branch of government: big money, corporate power, mega-millionaire and billionaire power. How can anyone talk about "defending democracy" without addressing Citizens United or, for that matter, the Supreme Court?

While you have your kumbaya moment I was confronted on my politics by a Trump supporter who felt safe with him on the economy through covid to now. She thinks he will heal the nation. Before you freak out know that I can handle her. She is my landlord and my friend and I respect her enough to not challenge her back but to let her talk about her vision of the country. We have to listen to the other side and Donald Trump holds the whole Republican Party in his thrall. She is a former Obama voter who flipped. I am in Georgia ground zero wirb Donald Trump. We may put him in jail while you all wait on Jack Smith Merrick Garland good luck with that and Republican Robert Mueller. I am twenty years older than she is and am retired from a big career on a big stage with all of humanity. For 32 years. I respect her like I said just like I respect Geoff Duncan and our governor Brian Kemp. Trump almost got all of them killed. We elected Ossoff and Warnock. I need to vent to David on this page. It is a joy to read the words of someone who admires Kamala Harris as much as I do, now and in the past. I felt she was always underestimated and, to a large extent, ignored by the press. She was not a given a chance to shine. Biden helped to change this by allowing her to be a leader, on his behalf, on the world stage.
As Michelle Obama warned, post-convention there will be a tidal wave of right-wing propaganda.
We have to be prepared and proactive, not reactive.
Don't engage with trolls, don't repost absurb NYT/WaPo/Politico clickbait, do "flood the zone with positivity" (influencer memes, campaign talking points).
