What Democrats, in their blindness, miss is that Joe Biden won manly because of mail-in voting during Covid. It couldn’t be hacked so easily. That’s why Trump wants to get rid of it. The 2024 election was comprehensively hacked at even higher levels than 2020 and with the return to normal early and election day voting, Trump won in a completely unbelievable sweep of the Swing States. Plans for 2026 and 2028 are daydreams with the current insecure electoral systems. The Democrats will go nowhere until they face up to the stolen election in 2024.
Have you listened or watched Slotkin on Gaza. She becomes a hesitant terrified hack. I will never support anyone who cannot unambiguously condemn genocide, those who perpetrate it and those who supply the weapons.
I think we have to realize that there is a stubborn streak among many Americans with their short attention span and paycheck to paycheck existence to stick with what they know. Especially among the older generation. But the young and middle aged voters? How does one explain the rallies and support for a man who clearly was so narcissistic and racist that many Americans just shake their heads? I myself can only explain it as this is a part of the country that just doesn’t want to move forward because when they have move forward that they lost everything economically?
I like to use a term with friends and foe alike when there is clear rejection of the facts that “you choose to be stupid.” It doesn’t garner a lot of popularity for sure but it does establish a line.
The 2024 election was a referendum on some many issues, but to see deep red areas in our country support a corrupt man and his policies is really an indictment on us as Americans in total.
But again…”you choose to be stupid.”
It is my hope is that many Americans who did vote for him in 2024 around have serious buyer’s remorse. Because if those Trump voters don’t, then it shows the dark underside of many Americans….which is tragic in itself.
Again…”you choose to be stupid.”
Now that covers one segment of the American voting population.
What explains those who aren’t stupid? Well, that is another term I use as well.
“Some Americans know better but choose not to be.”
Those describe who are members of the oligarchy. They are beholden to stockholders and consumers and in many cases foreign adversaries.
The oligarchy has embedded itself so much into the America political system that it will be just about impossible to remove it from our daily lives.
It is ironic that everything Donald John Trump has touched in his life with the exception of a Virginia winery initially turned out to be fool’s gold.
So many of us were fooled the first time in 2016. In 2020 there was just enough to not succumb to the foolishness. In 2024 apparently there wasn’t. It wasn’t until many enablers along the way saw that his personality could be a winning ticket…for them personally.
But for the average voter to support a man with clear fascist and racist and sexist behavior really unmasks the Daddy issues many have. A need for a man to make decisions for them…regardless of his behavior. It boggles the mind.
Agree and would like to add two thoughts from a 77 year old European who has enjoyed Deep State Radio for maybe a decade.
1. What a depressing spectacle it is to see the baby boomers Trump, Putin, Modi, Erdogan, Netanyahu and Xi wipe the floor with most of today’s sorry excuse for politicians like Starmer, Macron, Mertz, Rutte…
2. How about gathering your party around a manifesto expressing real change like more progressive taxes, real democracy without gerrymandering etc, finally getting healthcare right, gun control, draw down of nuclear weapons etc etc.
Project 2025 is crazy and radical, proving that the country is ready for radical.
The Democratic brand is SO far underwater that they don’t even have the credibility to be an effective critic of Trump or the Republican Party. They keep telling us MAGA is a threat to democracy, when are they going to ACT like it?
He’s a master of distraction, lies, bullshit, division, gaslighting and is Client #1. God save America. We are here at tyranny’s doorstep. Do whatever and everything we can to stop the fascists.
Confirming what I thought… we’re doomed. And I’m sure that Doom’s aspect will be the aged; crabbed Chuck Schumer clutching the podium in a palsied death grip.
Seconding Anne, Bob, Barnation Station and many others to say ok, yes David and now what? How do we move forward? How can we get the authentic leaders to BREAK with those who are not doing the job either because they're corrupt or because they're just not up to it? I'm reading lots of smart writers saying similar things but nothing is HAPPENING. Why is that? How can we change that?
Younger. Stronger.....which are 2 givens....fearlessness is a must.....wise is not just the old guard.....experience counts, too. Experience is to be shared from the old guard to the new .....
Boy, I hope so. Democrats need to win for the next 12-16 years. Let’s hope the new energy can break the cycle and change the country for a better, smarter future.
I’m glad you mentioned all the genuine change agents, including the greats Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. The people you named are all very good candidates for the true change we need. I agree with everything you said. Your home sounds heavenly.
While I appreciate all those calling for radical change, I hear few articulate what that change looks like. What are the policies and plans that the left is willing to advocate? How will they reform government to make it work for the working/middle class? Let's be specific. They needn't be detailed programs but they need to be real stakes in the groundl.
For a while I have been consistently writing two of my reps asking them to announce their retirements and all of my reps to ask Schumer to retire from leadership and announce he won’t run again.
Thankfully Durbin and Davis have announced they aren’t running again. And they announced early so we’ll have real primaries instead of the IL game of announcing a retirement in a way to chose or influence the choice of your successor.
What would it take to convince more of the old guard to retire?

Exactly, we need rectifying 2024, first!

You got that right, David!
We need to dump the old farts leading the stink in the Democratic Party!
They’re warmed up buckets of spit, taking corporate donations, watching their stock portfolios, and rigging the tax codes!
Democratic national leadership is “Republican Lite!”
Vote for ECONOMIC JUSTICE!
Ignore all “Culture Wars!”
Racial, gender and religious hatred are aimed at distracting you from their intent to rob you!
Yes! The white ruling class distracts us and divides us, to take our money!
It’s simple!
Say “NO!” to hate!
Beat them at their own game!
Stop sprending!
Vote for Progressive Democrats!
MUST READ!!!!!

No more AIPAC. YOU GET MONEY FROM AIPAC YOU'RE PRIMARIED
Fascinating.
