We can't wait that long! He rigged the election. He admitted it at the rally before his inauguration. He has violated the Constitution he pledged to uphold by that executive order redefining birthright citizenship!

I won’t vote for any establishment democrat anymore. Weed them out! It’s 2025 and the minimum wage is still $7. There’s no paid family leave. Our healthcare is killing us. They are emboldened to their donors. I’m so tired of all of it. Sometimes I think it has to get worse before it gets better. Not even sure how it could get worse.

We also need messaging. And when the time comes that the MAGAs draw away knowing they've been had, we need the grace and wisdom to welcome them in because in 2016 the most competitive campaign would have been between Trump and Bernie. Trump stole Bernie's messaging. The difference was that Bernie meant what he said about supporting the working class, Trump used it all as a Trojan Horse combined with the Big Lies repeated endlessly and the working class bought it because Bill Clinton and the centrist Democrats sold them out.

AOC, Crocket, Raskin, etc. - they get it. The working class used to be our base because we are the ones most likely to consider working class needs and serve them. The GOP has never been the party for the working class.

Yeah, we need exactly what David Rothkopf says - go back and stand up for the working class as well as the middle class. Give the billionaires the GOP. And we need better messaging and better messangers like AOC, Raskin, Bernie, etc.

Thanks David for the wise words. Democratic Party needs some Cahones. Both male and female. The days of Nancy Peloldsi need to end (thank you for your 240years of service to our country). It’s time to stop undermining the AOC’s of the party. The AOC’s who know how to win elections over entrenched democrats and republicans. Who know how to use social media and move us into the new democratic era of government when we are not afraid of a shadow. But never forget the reason the Magacans won was massive propoganda campaign on all their networks. Time to get the dems younger and more effective. Good bye Schumer, Durban, etc etc.

Your sentiments ring true, but your examples do not. AOC, Raskin, Whitmer, Moore, Newsom, Crockett, Murphy? Are any one of those people not beholden to AIPAC? Are any of them against the erasure of the feminine sex? If so, they haven't objected to calling violent men by the feminine pronoun and placing them in feminine prisons.

You can write that off as a "culture war distraction" but it should not be. I haven't got the time to look each one up for a proper rebuttal, but I will bet than most of the current Dems and Repubs are under duress of accumulating dollars, which the current values of Modernia require.

A good example, AOC. She came in as a firebrand reformer and immediately succumbed to Mama Bear. I wonder how this acolyte's portfolio is expanding these days.

Not to be critical here. Just saying.... If we accept all behaviors and quirks into the "big tent" we lose our ability to discern. We have dipped into an Anything Goes experiment, which is a deep crevasse. As they say, "When you gaze into the Abyss, it gazes into us." How deep do we care to allow perversion in the name of equality or fairness?

Did we Boomers go too far into easy going rule breaking? Did our sexual revolution destroy some values that were actually useful? Rather than sit back and accept the current pretenders' corporate financed perspectives, we must say "No, not that. Too far. Billion is too big a number. Men are not wimmin. Politics should be consensual, not competitive."

It looks as if the parties are switching their values. When Truman left office he went back to Missouri to live in his bungalow. He was another middle class dude. When Obama left office he bought 13 acres and a mansion on Martha's Vineyard. $11Million for 7K foot mansion. We seem to be ok with that sort of graft. And yes, of course, Repubs are the same in that respect.

But my point here is that our reps are making bank in public office. How does that work? Shouldn't we find out more about the working of our so called government? How do We The People turn this ship of state around to the values that we care about? Where did the middle class go? Who is responsible? Blame will never improve any situation.

Could it be that Questions are of value now? Wasn't that what we were doing in the 60's? Question Everything. And then take the time to achieve Consensus. The American Way was based on the Iroquois Way that inspired the Founding Fathers. It lasted for 1000 years.

They sought Harmony and found it through the principle of Consensus. Both of those qualities are functions of Yin and Yang, together. I believe that what we now see as diverse, oppositional and permissive, is our path to Understanding the Heart of the Matter. With open eyes, we can watch the process. With open ears we will hear each other's concerns. With willing hands we touch each other.

You lost me at “culture war distractions.” We need to stand up for the humanity of everyone. We need to create the story. Rather than react - or not - to the stories schoolyard bullies choose to tell. Right now, by ignoring “culture war distractions,” we are signaling that when a bully yells the F word at a gay kid, we kind of agree with their point, but don’t like when people in general are treated badly.

Unfortunately the Democrats need to be populist. This means taking over social media with the same vitriol as the Republicans. We need to spend less time on social issues and more time on things people care about like the economy and affordable medical care, and to point out how the Republicans and top 1% are screwing most people. Love her or hate her AOC represents the future of the Democratic party and we need to embrace that style if we want a functioning country back.

The gerontocracy needs to retire and the Milenials and gen Z needs to wake up, take action, and vote.

What a great call to arms! If I recall correctly, a bit ago, you asked for ideas for a new podcast for the DSR network. I think it would be really helpful for you interview today's (and tomorrow's) "potent fighters for all Americans on the issues that matter most to them." What a great way to introduce "the strongest leaders who make their case w/actions not just words" to the people of our country. Perhaps, include, in the mix, representatives from pro-democracy and freedom grassroots and media groups. Some people from these groups may be leaders for tomorrow. There are a lot of good things going on. We need someone to help link them together. Thank you for all you do!

I agree with this. But I think that it is not just a need for the party to focus generally. We need to restructure who is in charge. The Democratic party is run by and for aged incumbents and campaign consultants who focus on those "established brands" that makes them waffle in the face of determined fights because they don't actually think they need to win, only fundraise. Until that changes the party never will.

What has always bothered me is when I see impassioned speakers speak to what appears to be an empty room, is this all just “for the record” where are the Democrats ??? Too busy to support these ideas, out making calls to contributors?
