I don't watch prime time Olympics. I watch replays of coverage on Peacock of the events I enjoy. It's great. And I don't want to know the results in advance. As to the rest of your whys - I assume by backing you're not referring to parallel parking and it also drives me crazy - I would also like an answer.

Reading this is like an open book on my own brain currently. I can spend the entire day asking WHY?

Democracy

War

Climate

Utility companies

Corrupt governments

Trump

Epstein

Rape gangs

Patriarchy

Capitalism

Hunger

Disease

..

honestly I can type for the rest of the day at least !

Inertia. Takes a lot of energy to change course.

Sadly, we, Americans, are mostly dumb, fat and happy -- and proud of it, expletive deleted.

I agree with all your whys except: You ask why more Americans don't march in the streets. I watch Rachel Maddow on Monday evenings on MSNOW and she documents tons of protests (in freezing weather) all over the USA in cites and towns including folks who voted for Trump and those who are anti-Trump and everyone in between.

Great questions, David. Thank you for helping us stay alert and involved!

Backing into parking space is the only way to be sure you won't scrape your low front bumper on the curb. In my car, the rear is several inches higher than the front. Built that way, not some janky mod.

I’m praying for the willingness of the higher powers.

Why are the leaders of other countries (looking at you, all of Europe) treating Trump with the same formality and dignity that they use with other countries?

People in general let themselves be guided/motivated by their emotions rather than their ability to reason. Thinking i.e. reasoning, takes effort (and practice). I'm not being sarcastic. I'm a retired civics teacher. Believe me, I now. DARE TO THINK (for yourself)

Why, do educated and informed human beings forget to list a continuing genocide, paid for by their taxes, in their list of whys?

I really don't get it. None of my friends get it either. I only know a couple of people who support one part and, to be honest, they can't explain how or why they get it.

Exactly.

Throughout history, people who had the opportunity didn't ask why until it was too late.

I ask “why” dozens of times a day.

Hope all that venting acted like a pressure cooker valve, David. And I'm fairly sure most of us share at least a handful of your questions-cum-angsty gripes. Coupla thoughts: lots of these might well be illuminated by a fuller recognition of how deeply anxious and confused people are PLUS how deeply, deeply corrupted the vast majority of our institutions and norms have become by the greed and inhumanity of what's coming to be known as 'the Epstein Class.' Which is shorthand for 'aristocrats and unrepentant capitalist class, which admittedly is not as pithy. Feel better soon. "It's been a long time coming, but a change is gonna come."

Because most of my Willing Friends don't know HOW & WHERE

- to get around Microsoft & Aple & Google etcetera

- to get News where YOU get it from

WHY don't we move to a platform that's not subject to government bullying (this one isn't safe)?

WHY no Dummies' Guides for hard working people in an accessable place?
