If President Trump really wanted to honor the military...
He would've acted very differently than he has throughout his life.
If President Trump really wanted to honor the troops he:
--Would not use them as political props as at Ft. Bragg or in his visits to Arlington
--Would not condemn those who made the ultimate sacrifice as "losers" and "suckers"
--Would not claim they were part of "his" army led by "his" generals
--Would not divert them from their mission in violation of the Constitution to intimidate innocent people
--Would not siphon away resources to support parades honoring the president himself
--Would not risk the lives of US troops overseas by claiming he was behind the Israeli Iran attacks all along
--Would not dishonor women, people of color and members of the LGBTQ+ community by stripping their names from ships, removing their stories from libraries and seeking to push them from the military
--Would have appointed officials at the Pentagon who were capable and experienced (and not racists)
--Would have created a budget that provided more help for military families
--Would not seek to rename military bases after racist traitors
--Would not censor the teaching that takes places at schools on military bases
--Would not gut the Veterans Administration, seek to fire 80,000 people and thereby make it much more difficult for veterans to get the care they deserve
--Would not support our enemies
--Would not attack alliances that make us stronger and keep us safe
--Would not attack allies who are fighting and dying to defend democracy from nations like Russia that are a direct threat to the United States
--Would not undercut vital national security agencies and processes, avoid intelligence briefings, surround himself with incompetent, spineless loyalists
--Would not promote technological and military expenditure boondoggles that will not make us safer but will benefit his political cronies
--Would not claim we are being invaded when we are not
--Would not have proposed using military force against migrants, protestors and our neighbors
--Would not have fired top officials for daring to offer views with which he disagreed when in fact, that is their duty
--Would not have fired top military officers because they were black or women
—Would not have desperately sought to avoid serving the country when it needed him to
..and...
--He would not have led an insurrection against the United States.
The simple fact is that no US president in our history has shown such contempt for our military, its mission and the ideas, values and institutions which its members fought and died to preserve.
Woody Allen should be brought in to direct the rest of this movie because it's looking depressingly like Bananas.
Would not have pardoned the kidnappers of Gov. Whitmer. Nor the convicted criminals from Jan. 6.
